Translation is essential in uniting societies and individuals, enabling meaningful dialogue and communication. It traces its roots back to the very beginnings of human history. Translation has become a reputable academic discipline. Unfortunately, a lot of students wrongly believe that translation is a straightforward, word-for-word exchange, which reduces it to a mechanical process. This paper aims to is to advocate the essential integration of translation theories in undergraduate training programs for translation students. Understanding the fundamental principles and rules of translation theories such as semantics, contrastive linguistics, communication strategies, and equivalence will enhance undergraduate students’ skills in translation. This article employed theoretical and descriptive methods. It highlights the transforming potential of practical translation training and offers insights that will be useful to students, practitioners, and translation educators. Therefore, more research is required to connect theory and practice in academic translation programs and research.
