Abstract

Introduction Dubin-Johnson syndrome is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by chronic conjugated hyperbilirubinemia. Black liver is seen peculiarly in this syndrome due to accumulation of a dark pigment in the liver parenchymal cells. Case History A young female having laparoscopic cholecystectomy had incidental diagnosis of Black liver during surgery. She had normal liver function tests. Conclusion Black liver may be detected as an incidental finding during Laparoscopic cholecystectomy for cholelithiasis.
