Abstract

Background Myiasis is rare in children, especially with multi-organ injury. Case presentation A 5-year-old boy with testicular swelling (10+ days) had subcutaneous masses, multi-site effusions, and 28% eosinophils. Maggots emerged from his inguinal skin; he was treated with honey (topical) + albendazole, then discharged improved. Conclusion Myiasis in children may lead to multi-organ damage, with elevated eosinophils, multiple serous cavity effusions, and subcutaneous masses serving as diagnostic clues.
