Abstract

This paper introduces Infinite Hope, a theoretically grounded and testable framework to restore direction, identity, and future belief among disconnected emerging adults. By integrating Snyder's Hope Theory with Sinek's Infinite Mindset, the model proposes a new lens for understanding sustained engagement. Specifically, it asks (1) whether cultivating an infinite mindset amplifies the agency and pathways components of hope, (2) whether alignment with a personally held cause mediates the link between hope and sustained goal pursuit, and (3) under what programmatic conditions Infinite Hope accelerates movement from disconnection to purposeful engagement. Using a conceptual design and narrative synthesis methodology, the paper draws on an interdisciplinary review of seventy peer-reviewed sources. Infinite Hope combines goal setting, pathways thinking, and agentic motivation with existential flexibility, courageous leadership, and values-based alignment. Appendix C provides visual models that clarify the framework's cognitive structure and developmental sequence. A synthesized research agenda outlines quantitative and mixed-method strategies for empirical validation. For youth-serving organizations, Infinite Hope offers a practical blueprint for cultivating environments that embed meaning, reinforce identity integrity, and foster future-oriented resilience.
