This collection of reflective essays highlights innovative uses of technology in high-enrollment course sections (between 400 and 1,000 students per semester) across multiple fields of study—entrepreneurship, chemistry, and mathematics—with each respective discipline framing its narrative around implementing a unique set of tools that improve course outcomes and efficiencies for both students and instructors. Throughout these vignettes, the faculty members share their experiences working through ‘in common’ stages of 1) identifying the contextualized problem space, 2) exploring the educational technology marketplace, 3) determining the viability (and scalability) of available tool(s), 4) connecting with support services on best practices for integrating technology into the learning experience, 5) assessing student impact and instructional efficacy, and 6) discussing plans for iterative improvement. We conclude by summarizing key takeaways / lessons learned.
