Abstract

This study examines the modernization of dual education in Uzbekistan through the integration of digital technologies. Dual education, which combines academic learning with workplace training, has proven effective in bridging the skills gap; however, challenges remain in balancing academic and practical requirements and ensuring sufficient digital infrastructure. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys of 212 students and 46 employers, semi-structured interviews with 18 academic staff, and comparative analysis with international best practices (Germany, Austria, and South Korea). Findings indicate strong student interest in Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms, employer demand for digital skills and transparent certification, and educators’ recognition of opportunities alongside systemic barriers. Based on these results, the study proposes a next-generation digital dual education model that integrates AI, VR, and blockchain technologies to enhance employability, promote sustainability competencies, and align Uzbekistan’s higher education with global innovation trends.
