Abstract

The conformity model and its quantitative predictionsThe impact of social conformity on voting has been studied extensively andreported in previous research on the United States, Western and EasternEurope, India, Japan, and Russia. (Coleman, 2004, 2007a, 2007b, 2010, and2018; Borodin, 2005). Here I present a shortened version of the theory andthen show how it applies to American presidential elections from 1920 to2000 using state-level results.
