Abstract

Digital technologies have transformed human cognition, identity and social life, yet our conceptual frameworks for understanding behaviour remain rooted in a pre-digital era. Here we introduce Cybersophy—a fourth guiding principle, alongside worldview, life outlook and values—designed to orient behavioural research and policy in the digital age. We define its four dimensions (epistemic, ethical, existential, axiological), ground each in recent empirical findings, and propose testable hypotheses that open a new interdisciplinary research agenda.
