Abstract

Small digital interactions, like liking posts, checking notifications, or watching short videos onsocial media, have become very common, especially after COVID-19. This paper proposesan idea. These interactions make people happy right away. But over time, they can causeproblems like lack of focus, anger, and trouble managing emotions. These effects might belinked to inflammation in the brain. People with conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS), nutritional deficiencies, mental health issues, thyroid problems, or a history of drugabuse might be more affected. However, this idea applies to everyone. Based on studies inpsychology, neuroscience, and health, this model highlights a new aspect of how socialmedia affects the mind. It discusses the theoretical and practical importance and suggestsfuture research needs.
