Abstract

Replication studies are important to the growth and credibility of the field. However, replication studies are not very common in second language acquisition. In this chapter, I review and discuss the key conceptual underpinnings/principles of replication research in second language acquisition. I then review key approaches to replication research, followed by key considerations in doing replication research in second language acquisition. The chapter culminates with several examples of high-quality replication studies in second language acquisition research.
