Abstract

Study Objective: To understand the relationship between education and well-being by examining various outcomes across multiple countries. Data Source and Methodology: Utilizes data from the Global Flourishing Study (GFS), a longitudinal study with nationally representative samples from 22 countries and one territory, employing an outcome-wide analytic design. Outcome Variables: Examines the relationship between childhood covariates and 56 outcomes across various domains, including psychological well-being, social participation, and socioeconomic outcomes. Data Analysis Method: The primary analysis used imputed data from all Wave 1 participants, while a sensitivity analysis used only Wave 2 respondents with attrition weights. Education and Well-being: Education was positively associated with multidimensional well-being, but the strength of the association varied by context. Meta-analysis Findings: Higher education was positively associated with various well-being outcomes, including psychological, social, and physical health, after controlling for demographic and childhood variables.
