Abstract

This paper explores the potential of integrating psychological and technological sciences, with a particular focus on the use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) in thetreatment of psychopathologies, especially phobias and anxiety disorders. Throughpersonal and speculative reflections, the article proposes an innovative approach based onmultisensory neuroplasticity and predictive technologies, suggesting that VR and AR are notmerely support tools, but can become active elements in reshaping pathological responsesthrough the controlled manipulation of immersive experiences. The ethical andpsychological implications of prolonged use of these technologies are also addressed, emphasizing the need for conscious use to avoid the risks of addiction or emotionaldesensitization. This paper aims to offer insights for the scientific community and stimulatethe development of specific research on these topics, promoting a synergy betweenpsychology and technology to address the future challenges of mental health.
