The pair production, pair annihilation [1], quantum fluctuation [2], atomic collapse, and the Bose-Einstein effect — all emerge from quantum field theory (QFT) and quantum statistical mechanics, and while they involve different physical processes, there are deep conceptual and mathematical connections among them.
