Abstract

As a widely influential public figure, Najwa Shihab exhibits structured social practices through the habits and interaction patterns she develops. This research aims to identify and analyze Najwa Shihab's social practices using Pierre Bourdieu's social practice theory approach, which includes the concepts of habitus, capital, and field. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach, which utilizes primary data in the form of observations of digital platforms, such as the Mata Najwa program, as well as secondary data sourced from various scientific journals. The findings show that Najwa Shihab's habitus is formed by habits developed through formal education, her involvement in socio-political forums, journalistic activities, and her literacy culture. Her capital includes economic, symbolic, cultural, and social capital, which is then actualized in the field of journalistic work, socio-political discourse, and mass media. The theoretical implications of this research emphasize the relevance of Bourdieu's social practice theory in understanding the dynamics of public figures in media literacy. However, this study has limitations in that the data coverage is limited to certain digital platforms and does not cover the direct experiences of the individuals involved.
