Abstract

This study highlights the negative impact of excessive cell phone use on teenagers in Purworejo Village, Sragi Sub-district, Pekalongan District. Nowadays, cell phones have become a part of everyday life, including for young people. Although technology provides many conveniences, if not used wisely, mobile phones can actually bring various problems-from behavioral changes, decreased learning achievement, to health and mental disorders. Based on field observations, many teenagers spend hours playing online games, surfing social media, or watching videos, resulting in less interaction with people around them, including family members. At school, they find it difficult to focus, are often sleepy and unenthusiastic about learning. Health problems such as insomnia, eye fatigue, and physical exhaustion are also common. From a psychological perspective, social media often makes them feel inferior because they keep comparing themselves with others. Unfortunately, many parents do not provide enough supervision or guidance. Therefore, collaboration between parents, teachers, communities and the government is needed so that teenagers can use technology in a healthier and more balanced way.
