The Internet of Things (IoT) has rapidly expanded across multiple industries, bringing enhanced automation and connectivity. However, this growth also raises significant challenges, particularly in terms of energy consumption and battery maintenance for distributed devices. In this extended study, we explore a novel approach to charging IoT device batteries by harvesting energy from the magnetic fields produced by electrical wiring. Building on our previously published conference paper, we provide deeper technical details, present new experimental results, and discuss real-world use cases. Our methodology leverages magnetic induction to recover usable energy without requiring invasive modifications to existing electrical infrastructure. Through improved component selection, optimized circuit design, and extensive testing, we demonstrate the feasibility of recharging IoT batteries efficiently in residential and industrial environments. The results highlight the potential of this approach to reduce maintenance efforts, enhance sustainability, and support the deployment of autonomous IoT systems.
