Abstract

The increasing adoption of inverter‑based resources (IBRs), including photovoltaic systems, wind energy conversion systems, and battery storage, has significantly transformed the dynamic behavior of modern power networks. Unlike traditional synchronous generators, IBRs connect to the grid through power electronic converters, leading to lower system inertia and altered voltage and frequency response characteristics. This study conducts a technical assessment of inverter‑based power systems in MATLAB/Simulink, with emphasis on system dynamics and voltage behavior under various operating conditions. Comprehensive dynamic models are developed and simulated to evaluate transient responses, control interactions, and voltage stability performance
