Abstract

In this work, we introduce a metal-organic framework (MOF) that is 2D in nature into the poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) matrix, an area relatively underexplored. Using the chemical method, a highly 2D Ni-MOF was synthesized. Ni-MOF with different weight ratios was incorporated into PVDF matrixes by solvent casting. SEM and XRD were used to determine the nanocomposite structure. According to XRD, PVDF shifted towards the β phase with the incorporation of Ni MOF nanofiller. The dielectric constant decreases with frequency; however, higher MOF loadings cause the dielectric constant to decrease as dielectric loss increases. TGA/DSC shows that the thermal stability of PVDF-Ni-MOF nanocomposite is higher than that of pure PVDF due to the intermolecular interaction of Ni-MOF with PVDF.
