Abstract

Background Puerperal uterine inversion is a rare obstetric emergency that could be life-threatening.This article presents a typical case of puerperal uterine inversion. Images are provided in this paper to visually demonstrate the clinical manifestations, aiming to assist in the rapid clinical recognition and management of such cases. Case presentation: A 35-year-old woman (gravida 2, para 1) was admitted to the hospital for full-term pregnancy. During the placental expulsion stage postpartum, acute uterine inversion accompanied by postpartum hemorrhage occurred. We promptly recognized the condition and successfully performed manual repositioning within 7 minutes. Conclusion Early identification and timely reduction are the cornerstones of managing acute puerperal uterine inversion.
