Abstract

An analysis of 435 patients from the ACS-NQIP database was conducted in regards to AVM surgical patients with specified tiers for Risk Analysis Index (RAI), Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI), Preoperative Acute Severe Condition (PACS), Modified Frailty Index-5 (mFI-5), American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), and Combined GNRI-ASA-RAI-PACS (CGARP) to evaluate 30 day outcomes for mortality, non-routine discharge, complications, and readmission/reoperation. A DeLong test was used to compare all indices against the novel compound score, and it was found that frailty and nutrition are significantly associated with post-operative outcomes, and that CGARP has superior discrimination in predicting mortality, eLOS, complications, and readmission due to its utilization of ASA,GNRI, RAI, and PACS.
