Abstract

The Eastern Himalaya, encompassing Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, is a globally important centre of plant diversity, harbouring high species richness and endemism. During field explorations conducted between 2022 and 2025, six new distributional records were documented of which four are from Assam and two from Arunachal Pradesh belonging to the families Begoniaceae, Rubiaceae, Piperaceae, and Gesneriaceae. Specimens were systematically collected, photographed, and processed following standard herbarium techniques and deposited in ARUN and TOSEHIM. Taxonomic identification was carried out through critical examination with existing literature, herbarium collections, and online databases. These records contribute to the floristic knowledge of the Eastern Himalaya and highlight the region’s importance for future biodiversity assessments.
