Abstract

We have developed a new strategy for the copper-catalyzed radical coupling of α,α-difluoroarylacetic acids with 1,2,4-triazine-3,5(2H,4H)-diones. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions, demonstrating excellent substrate scope and functional group tolerance, and affords the desired products in moderate to good yields. The reaction efficiently constructs new C-C bonds containing CF 2 functional groups through a single electron transfer mechanism.
