The incorporation of technology into healthcare systems has fundamentally transformed the management of patient data and the delivery of healthcare services. One of the pivotal advancements in this digital revolution is the use of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), which serve as comprehensive digital repositories that allow healthcare practitioners to access, manage, and share patient health information more efficiently than traditional paper-based systems. This study explores the significant impact of EHRs on healthcare delivery and their financial implications, emphasising their crucial role in shaping the contemporary healthcare landscape. The importance of EHRs in transforming healthcare delivery cannot be overstated. Real-time access to patient information fosters a more integrated and patient-centred approach, enhancing coordination among various healthcare providers. Additionally, decision support tools embedded in EHR systems empower healthcare practitioners with critical insights, facilitating timely and informed decision-making. Beyond individual patient care, EHRs support population health management by enabling the monitoring of public health trends and identifying populations in need of early intervention. Moreover, the adoption of EHRs results in considerable financial benefits for healthcare organisations. Streamlined administrative processes reduce the burden of paperwork and manual record-keeping, leading to operational efficiencies. The integration of EHR systems also enhances the accuracy of billing processes and revenue cycle management, ultimately contributing to cost savings. As healthcare providers navigate the complexities of the modern healthcare landscape, the financial advantages of efficient EHR utilisation become vital for sustaining and advancing healthcare services. To further understand the impact and challenges associated with the implementation of EHRs, this study includes a questionnaire survey aimed at gathering more information directly from patients and healthcare providers. The survey investigates user familiarity, concerns, and expectations about EHRs, which will provide valuable insights into the real-world application of EHR systems and their role in improving healthcare delivery. This exploration will examine the benefits of EHRs, focusing on improved data accessibility, enhanced patient care, and increased operational efficiency, all of which contribute to higher quality healthcare delivery and the financial health of organisations. Additionally, we will discuss the regulatory landscape and compliance challenges associated with EHR implementation, highlighting case studies that demonstrate successful EHR integration and its positive impact on healthcare outcomes. Finally, we will consider emerging trends and technologies that will continue to shape the role of Electronic Health Records in the future.
