The study was conducted to explore the lived experiences of millennial family caregivers providing care for individuals with schizophrenia. It specifically aimed to identify the motivation in providing care for their loved ones with Schizophrenia, explore their caregiving practices, determine their challenges as caregivers, and the coping strategies they employ, and to uncover their realizations and insights in their caregiving journey. The study employed a qualitative phenomenological design in investigating the lived experiences of 10 millennial primary caregivers who were selected purposively. Data was collected through interviews and was analyzed thematically. The study found that the perceived familial obligation, which was rooted in Filipino cultural values, was the primary motivation of millennial family caregivers. Additionally, the technological enthusiasm of millennials contributes significantly to their caregiving practice. Moreover, despite the government initiative to promote mental health and subjective well-being, in our society, there is a safe space among individuals with chronic mental health disorders and their relatives. Lastly, despite society’s prejudicial attitude and challenges, Filipino resiliency and positive outlook made their experience of millennial family caregivers lighter and bearable, thus helping them shape them to develop their sense of purpose and strengthen their familial outlook- appreciating the dynamics of their family in helping their relatives with schizophrenia.
