Background To analyze the faculty efficacy and teaching outcomes of the inter-institutional collaborative teaching model in specialty hospitals in the context of the new medical science, and to explore its impact on medical education reform. Methods Relevant data were collected and analyzed to assess the teaching efficacy of the two modes by comparing the differences in faculty allocation, teaching quality, and student achievement between the inter-institutional cooperative mode and the independent teaching mode. Results The study found that the inter-institutional cooperation model has obvious advantages in the allocation of faculty with senior titles and postgraduate degrees, especially in the teaching of gynecology and obstetrics.Students' performance in the inter-institutional collaborative model was generally better than that in the independent model, especially in the proportion of high-achieving students. Conclusion The inter-institutional cooperative teaching model effectively improves students' theoretical knowledge mastery and application ability, and promotes the integration of disciplines and the cultivation of comprehensive ability. However, the implementation process also faces challenges such as teacher cooperation and coordination and teaching content integration, and further optimization of teaching resource allocation is needed to ensure the continuous improvement of teaching quality.
