Background Simulation-based training is a valuable tool for nursing students to manage stress and anxiety while developing effective communication skills in clinical settings. Methods This study aimed to assess the impact of simulation-based effective communication training on nursing students' stress, anxiety, and self-efficacy perceptions in clinical practice. A Pre-Test-Post-Test Quasi-Experimental design without a control group was utilized. The study was conducted with 74 nursing students between December 2023 and May 2024. Data were collected using the Personal Data Form, General Self-Efficacy Scale, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and Perceived Stress Scale for Nursing Students. Results Statistically significant differences were found between pre-test and post-test scores of the nursing students(p < .001).The post-test scores for perceived stress subscales and self-efficacy were also significantly higher(p < .001). Conclusion Simulation-based communication training effectively reduced stress and anxiety levels while improving students' self-efficacy in clinical practice. The findings suggest that integrating such training more widely into nursing education can better prepare students for their professional roles.
