Abstract

This piece of work represents one compact portable Multiple-input Multiple-output(MIMO) antenna which obtains excellent isolation amid the radiatingcomponents. The suggested MIMO antenna operates at 9.43 GHz frequency.The dimension of the MIMO antenna is 1.08λg × 2.09λg (16.6 × 32.1 mm2). The distance between two patch edges is 4.5 mm (0.138λ0). Isolation be-tween the two radiators has been improved by the inclusion of metamaterialstructure in between them. The proposed antenna attains mutual couplingbelow -18.4 dB. Behaviour of the MIMO antenna in terms of mutual cou-pling, gain, efficiency, radiation pattern, Diversity Gain (DG) and EnvelopeCorrelation Coefficient (ECC) has been examined. The proposed antenna isfabricated and measured which leads to satisfactory correspondence betweensimulated and measured outcomes.
