This paper demonstrates an innovative design of a voltage–mode differentiator circuit using the active element called voltage difference transconductance amplifier (VDTA). The proposed circuit utilizes one VDTA element, a single resistor, and a capacitor. The proposed circuit is designed in a gpdk 180nm CMOS processing a cadence Virtuoso tool. The designed circuit works with ± 0.9V supply voltage and uses a bias current of order 150µA, and also its amplitude is electronically tunable with bias current. Moreover, the proposed circuit provides 5% total harmonic distortion and 257µW power dissipation.
