A Randomized Comparative Clinical Trial to Assess the Efficacy of Polyherbal Metabolite Compounds in the Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Background and Objectives: In this current state, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is more prevalent in the population, and metformin is used as a first-line medication for treating it. There was up surge in the utilization of alternative therapies in the management of diabetes. Especially in diabetes, Herbal medicines are considered safe and reliable by majority of the population. Aim: The purpose of this research is aimed to estimate the safety and efficacy of Polyherbal Metabolite Compounds (PHMC) capsules in adults with T2DM. Materials and Methods: In this study, 60 T2DM patients aged 18-60 years were randomly assigned to Groups A (30) receiving Metformin 500 mg twice a day after food and Group B (30) receiving PHMC capsule 500 mg twice a day after food in a prospective, randomized and open-label clinical study.
