Abstract

This study presents Afro-Kiva, a digital platform designed to simplify property rental for foreigners in Russia, addressing cultural, linguistic, and trust-related challenges that often hinder access to reliable housing. Rooted in user-centered design and informed by both qualitative and quantitative research, the project explores the gaps in existing accommodation services and introduces A a tailored, technology-driven solution. comprehensive methodology—comprising literature review, market research, surveys, interviews, and competitor analysis—guided the platform's development. The result is Miradom, a multilingual, user-friendly web application offering verified listings, enhanced customer support, and added-value services such as noise monitoring and cleaning. Key innovations include intuitive UI/UX, a scalable business model, and strategic market positioning that prioritize user trust and cultural inclusivity. Afro-Kiva’s journey reflects the broader potential of culturally specific digital platforms to foster inclusion, enhance housing accessibility, and create resilient proptech solutions for under-served migrant populations. This work contributes to ongoing discourse in digital entrepreneurship, real estate innovation, and inclusive urban development.
