Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is challenging to diagnose. Here we describe eight cases of T. gondii infections identified in immunocompromised hosts by plasma metagenomic cell-free deoxyribonucleic acid (cfDNA) sequencing, including five clinically unsuspected cases, and review the potential for plasma cfDNA sequencing to expand the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis in diverse clinical presentations.
