The health system of Pakistan has multiple threats like political instability, recession, disparitiesin access to health services, infrastructure, development challenges, emergence of COVID-19pandemic. Beginning of 2022 was marked with unusual surge in cholera cases. According toNational Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, varied number of suspected cholera cases werereported across four provinces. Floods hit the country in mid-July which further aggravated thesituation of healthcare services. Ministry of Health along with World Health Organization(WHO) need to implement preventive and supporting actions to control cholera and otherwaterborne diseases.
