Abstract

Panguraptor lufengensis You et al., 2014 is the first Coelophysoidea species that has been named in Asia. In previous studies, the description of holotype lacked anatomical details, leaving inadequate amounts of information. In this research, the anatomy is further described and the autapomorphic characters of P. lufengensis are re-evaluated, expanding into a combination of six characters. Phylogenetic analysis shows P. lufengensis is an early-branching member of the superfamily Coelophysoidea, indicating a yet to be uncovered ghost lineage of Coelophysoidea in East Asia.
