The rapid development and introduction of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in every sector of modern life have been a harbinger for the introduction of ICT in education. This introduction radically changes the way of teaching, learning, and studying. This paper attempts to study the use of ICT by special education teachers in teaching practice. The research was conducted on 84 special education teachers from the region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the prefecture of Thessaloniki. The findings of the research revealed that special education teachers have a positive attitude towards the use of ICT for their students. Finally, it appeared that basic ICT skills are not sufficient, but familiarity and use of specialized software is also necessary. Confidence in using ICT, their perceived usefulness, and their attractiveness to teachers lead to the improvement of student performance and have a positive effect on the performance of students with disabilities.
