Abstract

This article examines the complex dynamics of traditional and cyberbullying in educational settings, with a particular focus on gifted and twice-exceptional students. Through the case study of Amara, a seventh-grade coding enthusiast targeted by cyberbullying, the article illustrates how digital harassment can impact students' academic and emotional well-being. It explores the three main roles in bullying dynamics—targets, bullies, and bystanders—while highlighting how gifted and twice-exceptional learners may be particularly vulnerable due to their unique characteristics and asynchronous development. Evidence-based prevention and support strategies are suggested, including digital literacy promotion, the creation of safe environments, and upstander behavior encouragement. Special attention is given to Ohio's administrative code requirements for school bullying prevention policies and the importance of family-school collaboration in addressing these issues.
