Scope, Characteristics, and Models of Learning Evaluation: A Conceptual Review in Educational Assessment

In order to guarantee the caliber, efficacy, and accountability of educational methods, learning evaluation is essential. Evaluation is now seen as a holistic process that looks at learning outcomes, instructional procedures, and educational institutions rather than just a way to gauge students' final performance. By examining its breadth, essential traits, types, and assessment methodologies, this article provides a conceptual examination of learning evaluation. The review is based on well-known educational theories, especially Bloom's taxonomy of learning domains and well-known frameworks for program evaluation.According to the research, learning evaluation covers three interconnected domains: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. When taken as a whole, these domains offer a comprehensive picture of student growth. Teachers can comprehend the intricate relationships between instructional components and their impact on learning success by adopting such a thorough viewpoint.This article also covers the fundamental elements of successful learning evaluation, such as objectivity, validity, and reliability, all of which are necessary to generate reliable and significant evaluation outcomes. The various forms of learning evaluation diagnostic, formative, and summative are analyzed in light of their unique roles in promoting learning and improving education. In order to demonstrate their applicability to modern educational practice, the review also examines popular assessment methods, including the CIPP model, Goal Attainment model, Kirkpatrick's model, and Responsive assessment.This conceptual review advances theoretical knowledge of learning evaluation as a multifaceted, ongoing process.
