Abstract

This article presents a clinical and theoretical reflection on the use of haloperidol insevere personality disorders, with an emphasis on borderline, antisocial presentations,and cases of refractory suicidal impulsivity. Hospital practice observations, dose-dependent effects, psychodynamic relationships, and proposals for integratedpsychiatric psychotherapy are included. The analysis is complemented by a briefliterature review and conceptual contributions from V. Kapsambelis on thepsychodynamics of neuroleptic use.
