Abstract

This study conducts a systematic review and meta-ethnographic analysis to examine the manosphere, a misogynistic digital environment. The objectives are to assess the current state of research and to clarify the differences and similarities among the communities that comprise it -a heterogeneous amalgam that includes four major groups: Men’s Rights Activists (MRAs), Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW), pick-up artists (PUAs), and incels-. The methodology incorporates a mixed-methods approach. The protocol adheres to eMERGe and ENTREQ guidelines, as well as PRISMA, which is also used to report the search and selection process for studies. A thematic matrix is employed to perform the translation. The result is a selection of 24 studies, although only 23 were included in the reciprocal translation (synthesis). The study describes the manosphere based on the available evidence and identifies significant gaps in current research, such as the need for evidence-based socio-educational intervention.
