Abstract

This paper advances a meta-theoretical critique of quasi-holistic approaches in social science, arguing that they contribute to a fragmented knowledge base that limits the capacity to understand and govern the global economy as an integrated system. It proposes Supra-level Holistic Re-engineering (SHR) as a foundational analytical framework designed to address these limitations. SHR integrates systems thinking, holistic reasoning, narrative synthesis, organizational analysis, and a reconceptualized global economic structure (RGES) to restore structural coherence and enable cross-domain integration. Rather than replacing existing bodies of knowledge, the framework situates them within a higher-order systemic context, allowing fragmented insights to be examined as interdependent components of a unified whole. The paper positions SHR as both a theoretical contribution and a basis for future interdisciplinary research, particularly in contexts characterized by increasing systemic complexity, informational distortion, and institutional fragmentation. While the framework is exploratory and has not yet undergone empirical validation, it is offered as a conceptual platform for advancing integrative analysis and informing future scholarly and policy-oriented inquiry.
