Abstract

Current scientific revolution may produce power so great, to rule out Irreversibility and Scarcity, short of permanent death, in anthrosphere. Such power, manifesting as probably an omnimachine, under direct human control, would thus become the most important means of production, political rights, and political power, in combination. Such power, fairly shared, would change meaning, relationship, and practise of political equality, freedom, and democracy for the better, as never before. Still, the omnimachine, powerful as it may be, will likely develop in a world of Nation States competing for it, and would not be able to choose its own owner. Frightened by “General AI” and “foreign threats”, and seeking protection in idolatry, citizens of nation states would likely create for themselves a superhuman dictator with the omnimachine. Yet this new and utter tyranny, could, ironically, offer so much more affluence, equality, freedom, and democracy than any government of the past, those most equal, free, or democratic included, if the superhuman wills. Even if people could once share the new power fairly among themselves, safeguarding it would would still be challenging. There would be, thus, no real escape from the duties of politics, collective or personal, through whatever power of natural sciences.
