Abstract

The RISS Internalization Survey aims to link multidimensional social structural positioning to individual attitudes and perceptions. It encompasses modules on socio-structural positions, social identification, and key attitudinal and behavioral indicators of social cohesion and political conflict. It features new and experimental measurement instruments to assess social identity, political conflict and gender ideologies. The sample is composed of four different groups: the representative main sample with individuals aged 18 and over living in Germany, a Turkish oversample of individuals with a Turkish migration background, a Dutch oversample of individuals of Dutch nationality and a youth sample covering young adults aged between 15 and 17 years, representative of individuals in this age group living in Germany. In total, 14,326 respondents took part in the survey, of which 11,435 completed the full interview. The survey has an overall response rate of 32.7 percent. Realized interviews are N=5,965 for the main sample, N=915 for the Dutch oversample, N=2,448 for the Turkish oversample, N=138 partner interviews (across all adult samples) and N=4,842 for the youth sample.
