Abstract

The Subjective Value Assignment Theory is a novel cognitive framework thatexplores how individuals assign different meanings and values to external objects, events, situations, others, and themselves based on their cognition, beliefs, emotions, experiences, values, and needs. This paper first defines and categorizes subjectivevalue assignment (implicit vs. explicit), then analyzes in detail its mechanisms andimpact on emotion, cognition, and behavior. Furthermore, it introduces two practicalmethods—the Targeted Value Assignment Method and the Three-DimensionalMeaning Construction Method—as concrete tools for regulating and optimizing thevalue assignment process. Through case analysis and theoretical discussion, this paperdemonstrates the theory's potential applications in mental health, personaldevelopment, interpersonal relationships, team management, and wealth creation. This research not only offers a new perspective for understanding emotions andcognition but also provides a theoretical foundation for related intervention strategiesand cognitive restructuring. Future studies will explore its cross-cultural applicabilityand potential for interdisciplinary integration.
