Abstract

Background:This article explores the potential of Deep Brain Sound Stimulation (DBSS) in treating Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). BPD is characterized by intense emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and unstable interpersonal relationships. Traditional treatments include psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy, which often have limited efficacy and significant side effects. DBSS enhances traditional brainwave entrainment by offering precise auditory stimulation tailored to specific brain regions implicated in BPD, such as the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. Objective:To investigate the potential of DBSS as a treatment modality for BPD and to evaluate user feedback on its effectiveness and safety. The study aims to provide a detailed analysis of the application of DBSS for BPD, including specific brain regions targeted, user feedback, and satisfaction metrics. Methods:DBSS technology utilizes auditory stimuli to target specific brain regions, inducing frequency following responses (FFRs) and promoting neural synchronization. User feedback was collected from the Apple App Store, with 270 users completing the full treatment and 20 users participating in a survey to provide data on treatment satisfaction and effectiveness. Results:User feedback indicates a high level of satisfaction with DBSS for BPD treatment, with 99.26% of users reporting satisfaction and an average reported effectiveness of 50% (Confidence Interval: 38.79% - 61.21%). Detailed analysis revealed specific improvements in emotional regulation, reduction in impulsivity, and stabilization of interpersonal relationships among BPD patients. While these initial findings are encouraging, clinical trials are necessary to confirm these results and ensure the reliability of DBSS as a treatment for BPD.Conclusions:DBSS represents a promising advancement in brainwave therapy for BPD, offering targeted brain stimulation that specifically addresses the unique neurobiological aspects of the disorder. Future studies should confirm DBSS’s efficacy and safety while integrating more disorder-specific data and patient testimonials to substantiate its unique benefits for BPD.
