Abstract

Stigma remains one of the most persistent and damaging barriers to mental health care,especially in the Middle East. Despite growing global awareness, many individuals in the regioncontinue to suffer in silence due to shame, misunderstanding, and cultural taboos. This paperexplores the roots and realities of mental health stigma in Middle Eastern societies, emphasizinghow fear and social judgment discourage help-seeking behavior.
