Abstract

We present a way convex hulls can be applied to Likert scale response data for recovery of the familiar sum score from Classical Test Theory (CTT). An illustration with real data showed the recovered correlation between the convex hull score and the CTT sum score was .96. We discuss implications for measuring latent constructs using artificial intelligence transformers and natural language.
