Mindfulness, deeply rooted in Buddhist Dharma, has increasingly been integrated into contemporary psychological science for its profound impacts on mental health and wellbeing. This study examines the philosophical roots and scientific applications of mindfulness, highlighting its psychological and cognitive contributions to human flourishing. It introduces a novel conceptual framework that identifies harmony as a key outcome of mindfulness practice. The Unified Harmony Framework (Zhao, 2025) defines harmony through three interconnected facets: coexistence, coherence, and continuity, which operate at three levels—Me Harmony (intrapersonal), We Harmony (interpersonal), and Eco Harmony (environmental). Through offering a nuanced conceptual and empirical analysis of mindfulness from the lens of harmony, the study advances a more holistic understanding of mindfulness and suggests new directions for research, intervention, practice, and policy aimed at promoting individual and collective flourishing.
