Abstract

In this paper, I challenge contemporary perspectives that view personality functioning as a ''unitary entity'' by showing that this construct bifurcates into two domains: a self-functioning domain (that maps on emotional psychopathology) and a social-functioning domain (that maps on interpersonal psychopathology).
