Correlating movement symptoms severity and depression symptoms severity in Parkinson's Disease.

Background: Movement symptoms worsen with age and as Parkinson’s disease progresses. Objectives: Explore the association between the severity of movement symptoms and depression symptoms. Methods: Linear regression analysis was performed to review the correlation between movement symptom severity and reported depression severity. Additionally, linear regression on age and reported depression was also performed as a point of reference. Results: A significant correlation is established between movement symptoms severity rating and reported depression and anxiety. Conclusion: There is an exploratory relationship between movement symptoms severity and reported anxiety and depression in people with Parkinson’s Disease.
