Abstract

A consensus on unconscious processing is much needed. Yet, the field would benefit from a discussion of how to address fundamental challenges in measuring the extent of unconscious processing, both in our paradigms and the use of perceptual decisions for deciding whether content is conscious. Paradoxically, a better definition of what counts as conscious can help us address these challenges.
