Abstract

This paper proposes a reframing of mindfulness as a form of nonverbal communication with the self. This approach emphasizes the silent, embodied, and immediate connection between awareness andpresent experience, moving beyond metaphorical or abstract definitions. By conceptualizingmindfulness in this way, practitioners and researchers can more precisely describe itsphenomenological essence and better integrate it into therapeutic and educational contexts. Thisperspective clarifies the mechanisms through which mindfulness fosters self-awareness, emotionalregulation, and personal growth. Implications for clinical practice, teacher training, and curriculumdesign are discussed.
